Glem Beauty Hub

Full brand identity, e-commerce store, product photography, and social media programme for a Ghanaian luxury beauty and hair retailer built end-to-end from a blank page.

The brief

Glem Beauty Hub came to Northult at the very start before they had a logo, before they had a website, before they had a social media presence. What they had was a clear vision: a luxury destination for hair, professional styling tools, and expert hair services, built around premium products and masterful styling.

Most agencies would have asked Glem to come back when they had branding and assets in hand. Instead, we offered to do the full build ourselves brand identity, photography, e-commerce platform, payment integration, and the social media programme to launch it all. One partner, one coordinated rollout, one consistent voice from day one.

The brief, in their words, was simple: build us the home of luxury hair, professional tools, and masterful styling and make it look as serious as the products we sell.

What we built

A complete launch package across six disciplines:

Brand identity and logo design. We started from a blank page researching the luxury hair and beauty market, exploring visual directions, and developing a logo system that signalled premium positioning without straying into clinical or cold territory. The final mark and supporting typography work together across digital, packaging, and in-store applications.

Product and lifestyle photography. We shot the full product catalogue ourselves every item styled, lit, and photographed against considered backgrounds. We also produced lifestyle imagery of the hair services on real models. Consistent treatment across every shot means the website, the social feeds, and any future printed materials all feel like they belong to the same brand. No stock photography appears anywhere on the site.

E-commerce website. Built on WordPress with WooCommerce, which gives the Glem team full control over their catalogue without needing a developer for everyday updates. New products, pricing changes, sales, blog posts — all manageable in-house. The visual design is custom, not template-based: every product page, category layout, and checkout step is built specifically for Glem rather than inherited from a generic theme.

Paystack payment integration. Paystack is the right payment gateway for Ghanaian e-commerce it handles local cards, mobile money, and bank transfers natively, which is exactly what Glem's customers expect. We integrated Paystack directly into the WooCommerce checkout so customers can pay with whatever method they prefer, in cedis, without ever leaving the site.

Social media setup. We launched and styled Glem's Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok accounts profile assets, bio copy, highlight covers, post templates, and the initial content runway. Every social asset uses the same brand language as the website, so the experience of discovering Glem on Instagram and then visiting the site feels like one continuous brand.

Ongoing social media management. Beyond launch, we maintain Glem's social presence on a continuing basis — producing content, scheduling posts, and keeping the brand visible to the audience that buys premium hair and styling. It's not a one-and-done engagement. The site, the photography, and the social programme all evolve together.

The result

Glem Beauty Hub launched with everything a premium retail brand should have on day one — and continues to operate with Northult as their long-term creative and technology partner.

  • A complete brand identity built from scratch — logo, typography, visual system, and brand guidelines
  • A custom WooCommerce store with full Paystack integration for local payment methods (cards, mobile money, bank transfer) in Ghana cedis
  • A full custom product catalogue with proprietary photography — every product shot in-house, no stock imagery
  • Three active social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) launched, styled, and actively managed by Northult on an ongoing basis
  • Self-service catalogue management so the Glem team can add products, adjust prices, run promotions, and publish content without needing a developer
  • A single coordinated brand voice across every customer touchpoint — site, packaging, social, support

What this case study represents

Glem Beauty Hub is the kind of partnership that shows the full breadth of what Northult can deliver. Most agencies do one of these things design, or photography, or development, or social. We did all of them, kept the brand consistent across every channel, and continue to maintain it as the business grows.

For founders launching a serious retail brand in Ghana, this is the model: one studio, one creative direction, one team that owns every part of the rollout from logo to launch to ongoing growth. It costs less than hiring four separate vendors, moves faster than coordinating between them, and keeps the brand coherent in a way that piece-by-piece work never quite manages.
